Let Faith Arise by Refusing to Fear!

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world ~~~ our faith.”
(1 John 5:4)   New American Standard Bible

Faith is the exact polar opposite of fear and fear always presents itself much grander than it really is. It’s always the worst-case scenario, the most impossible, improbable outcome and the worst news to be expected. Fear always tries to get you worried, anxious, uptight and panicky. When fear is in operation in your life it is paralyzing and debilitating.

Fear will tell you: “You can’t do that, it has never been done before!”, “You aren’t smart enough, you don’t have enough education or experience!”, “You are never going to amount to anything!”, “You can’t do that by yourself!”, “Your daddy or your mama was a dreamin’ fool too!”, “You are too stupid, too ugly or you lack talent!”, “You are gonna kill yourself!”, “You aren’t gonna make it!”, “You are going to die!”, “You probably have cancer!”….. the list of negative, hurtful remarks go on and on and continue to play over and over in your head.

‘The goal of fear is to separate you from God by trying to get you to doubt His Word. When the spirit of fear comes, recognize it for what it is; it has absolutely no place and no power in your life unless you give it a place to dwell and empower it.

DO NOT give into fear, do not empower it by speaking words in fear.

DO NOT give it power by meditating, thinking and worrying about it.

DO let the power of God’s Word rise up within you.

DO declare what God’s Word says.

DO declare that God has given you all the authority in heaven and earth.

DO declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper.

DO declare that as you place all your cares upon Him, He will give you rest.

Remember, no matter how big fear is and no matter how it presents itself, it’s no match for the power of The Almighty God. When you yield yourself to Him, place all your cares, concerns and worry upon Him, you tap into His power.

Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. God is bigger than your problems and bigger than fear.

I often think of Peter in the boat with the other apostles and Jesus is seen in the distance walking on the water toward them. Peter says to Jesus, “If it really is you, then bid me to come to you.” Jesus says, “Come On”. Brave Peter, mustered up all the faith he could gather and as long as he kept his eyes on Jesus, stepped out of the boat and out onto the water. He walked on the water, something that is impossible to do….he was doing it! When he started listening to his friends say, “You can’t do that, you are crazy and you are going to fail and going to drown”, his faith began to waver and he lost sight of Jesus, he started to sink. Peter yells out to Jesus, “Help Me!” Jesus reached out and pulled Peter safely to his chest.

I once heard Joyce Meyer say, “If you are afraid to do something new and different, do it anyway, even if you are afraid! “

Never allow fear to dictate your life.

Let faith arise in your heart because faith is the victory that will help you overcome the obstacles in your life and world.

My prayer is that we allow Father’s perfect love to dwell in us, His Love casteth out and drives away all fear. May we choose to meditate upon God’s Word today and it allow it to take root in our hearts, may we nurture and feed the mustard seed of faith planted within us and may it empower us to be overcomers. We thank You Father, we bless You and praise You today for Your goodness and Your grace and Your mercy and Your miracle in our lives in Jesus’ name.

  1. Hallelujah! Higher than the mountains that we climb, yes one thing remains, Your love never fails, never gives up, never runs out on US. That was truly awesome. Indeed, we can not allow fear to keep us inside our comfort zone, we must have faith, stepping out side of the comfort zone holding the hand of the One True Living God at all times.

I have written a few posts on faith so if you get the opportunity to check my blog out it would be a blessing.

Thank you for your words, and God bless you.

  2. This is a very nice one. Fear is one of the greatest enemies of mankind. I call it the “self-imposed prison yard.” Like you correctly, noted our God’s power is greater fear, no matter the size. This is good news indeed….hiii 🙂
